Roy Waas Death; Former Principal Horn of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Roy Waas passed away
We regret to inform you of the demise of Roy Waas, the BPO’s former Principal Horn.
Roy, a talented musician and committed engineer, had an incredible career that included stints with the Cleveland Orchestra and the Kansas City Philharmonic before settling in Buffalo. His leadership and artistic abilities had a profound effect on our community and orchestra. During this passing, our thoughts are with his friends and family.
The Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home in Hamburg will host a gathering on Saturday, February 22 from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a prayer service. Donations can be donated to the BPO in his honour in place of flowers.
We honour Roy’s extraordinary life while also grieving his passing. We shall always be grateful for his services to the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the classical music community. We send our sincerest sympathies to his friends, family, coworkers, and everyone else who was impacted by his music and giving nature.
We take comfort in the treasured memories of Roy Waas, a man whose music not only delighted but also enhanced lives, during this time of intense loss. For many years to come, may his legacy inspire harmony, perfection, and a love of music. May his soul rest in peace.
