In a recent Facebook post, Jesse Darley characterised his wife as “literally an angel on earth.” Jesse Darley said, “She was gorgeous on the inside and out.”
Julian Green was also identified this week as one of the two killed in the gas station shooting.
The gunman, Dominic Caroway of Arizona, died the next day in a shootout with deputies who were trying to arrest him. A Suwannee County deputy was hit, but saved by his bullet proof vest.
Darley described it as a “senseless act of extreme violence” in a Facebook post in which he shared news of his wife’s murder the day after it happened.
In a heartfelt Facebook post this week, he wrote: “Until we meet again my love, I’ll hold it down down here, you just watch out for us from up there.”
Darley will bury his wife on Valentine’s Day. Funeral services for Laura Smith Darley are set for Friday, February 14, in Bainbridge, Georgia.
