
Kierra Burney Death; Victim identified in Decatur Co. homicide, $1K reward offered for suspect information
A woman who was found dead in Decatur County last week has been identified.
Kierra Burney, 35, was found dead Wednesday morning near Pondtown Road by work crews performing maintenance in the area, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
After preliminary autopsy results, the GBI wrote in its press release that it was determined Burney died as a result of a homicide.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office is now offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her death, according to the GBI.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
