David Chambers III Death; Victim identified in connection with deadly shooting Monday night in Baton Rouge
\A man is dead in connection with a shooting in Baton Rouge on Monday evening, February 17.
The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old David Chambers III.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the shooting happened around 5:50 p.m. in the area of North 23rd Street and Birch Street.
Authorities said they are working to gather more information about what happened.
“Pulling video camera from nearby store, trying to get as much information as we can,” said BRPD Chief Thomas Morse. “Right now, it looks like the victim has a bunch of narcotics inside of his vehicle along with a weapon in his lap. So, we’re looking at all possibilities of motives. I’m not sure if that’s going to be involved or not.”
