With a heavy heart, I share the devastating news of the loss of our beautiful friend, a daughter, a sister queen to many, Kadence Fredericksen. We spent this past weekend with Kadence, her mom Lisa, and many dear friends in our pageant family, cherishing memories that now hold an even deeper meaning.
Yesterday, we learned that Kadence was tragically involved in a car accident and passed away. Our hearts are shattered as we remember the bright light she brought to every room, every stage, and every life she touched.
Kadence had dreams as big as her heart. I spoke with her Saturday morning in our hotel lobby during breakfast catching up about her exciting college plans. A senior who had been accepted into the University of Florida, Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, FSU, and many more. She aspired to be a veterinarian, dedicating her life to caring for others in the most special way.
For Olivia, Kadence was a role model, a friend, and a shining example of grace. Over the years, I’ve taken pictures. Kadence’s kindness and sparkle left an impression on Olivia that will never fade. Even at olivia’s last photo shoot, Kadence took off her shirt and earrings and said “Try this Olivia. You wear it for your photoshoot”. Olivia loved watching Kadence compete and always looked forward to the fun at Lisa’s parties. The pictures below show their special memories from 2018 to now—— treasured memories we will hold in our hearts forever.
As we grieve this unimaginable loss, I turn to these words of comfort:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
Heaven has gained an angel, and we find peace knowing she is now in God’s loving arms. Kadence, you will be forever missed, and your light will continue to shine in all of us.
Please keep Lisa Matt Lisa Fred and her family in your prayers as they navigate this heartbreak. We love you, Kadence. Fly high, beautiful Queen.
