LeRoy Terrell Death; Firefighter dead after single-vehicle crash
The death of a firefighter in a single-vehicle collision on Saturday morning has been verified by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were summoned to the intersection of State Road 446 and Dutch Ridge Road at approximately 6:20 a.m., according to MCSO. Police discovered a 2006 Ford F-350 that had veered off the road and collided with a neighbouring forested area when they arrived on the scene.
According to the police, they found the F-350’s driver and recognised him as Bedford resident Leroy Terrell. Terrell was declared dead at the site and was a member of the Monroe County Fire Protection District.
The car most likely slid off the road and into the woods due to poor weather, the sheriff’s office said.
